About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Reuben Cooley, Inc. involves providing technical support and maintenance for data center operations. The technician will be responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and managing inventory related to data center infrastructure, specifically focusing on cabling and server components. This position requires a strong understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with ticketing tools like ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correspondence with customers regarding installation/project status.
• Install complete copper and fiber circuits, including patching and infrastructure.
• Use and read Fluke instruments for testing and troubleshooting.
• Conduct and maintain inventory levels in the data center.
• Work with and install pre-terminated fiber solutions.
• Identify and swap server components as needed.
• Familiarity with racking and stacking equipment such as routers, switches, and servers.
• Perform terminations of 33, 66, 110 blocks up to 300 pair cable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Familiarity with DCIM and ticketing tools, preferably ServiceNow.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• A+ level of computer knowledge is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cabling and data center infrastructure.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems.
