About the position

As a Data Center Technician at Power Home Remodeling, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the electrical and cooling infrastructure within the data center. This role requires collaboration with the Site Reliability Engineering team to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and security of data center operations. You will serve as the subject matter expert for on-premise data center operations and safety requirements, playing a crucial role in scalability planning for physical, electrical, and cooling capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement electrical systems to support data center operations, including Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
  • Plan and manage the installation and maintenance of cooling systems, such as Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC).
  • Monitor and analyze electrical and cooling systems for optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power distribution and cooling systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for the installation and repair of equipment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of electrical and cooling infrastructure and prepare performance reports.
  • Assist in planning and executing data center expansions and upgrades.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Information Technology preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with infrastructure projects, including expertise in servers, networking equipment, and data centers.
  • Experience in the SRE department for over 3 years, with a strong understanding of SRE services.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and form positive relationships.
