About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Selby Jennings involves managing and maintaining critical infrastructure within a data center environment. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems, HVAC, and IT equipment, contributing to the overall operational success of the firm.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work including tasks related to switchboards and switchgear, diesel generators, power distribution, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
• Manage and service HVAC systems, including cooling tower, chiller, CRAC, CRAH, CD, dry coolers, and liquid cooling
• Handle IT equipment tasks such as racking and stacking servers, cabling, and troubleshooting hardware issues
• Occasionally coordinate with vendors

Requirements

• Experience with electrical systems and HVAC management
• Proficiency in handling IT equipment and troubleshooting hardware issues
• Ability to perform physical tasks related to data center operations

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with industrial HVAC and/or as a licensed electrician
• Military experience supporting critical environments
• Experience working with power and cooling infrastructure

Benefits

• Base salary of $130,000 - $160,000
