About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves assisting in the installation and maintenance of IT cabling infrastructure for a large data center in Richmond, VA. Technicians will work under the guidance of higher-level techs and team leads, focusing on tasks such as pulling and terminating cables, installing cable trays, and supporting electronic security installations. This position is suitable for both entry-level and mid-level candidates looking to advance their careers in the telecommunications field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with running, terminating, and installing IT cabling (Cat5, Cat6, Coaxial, and Fiber Optics)
• Install grounding for server racks, equipment, and cable as required.
• Perform fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, and on low voltage devices
• Terminate low-voltage devices and IT hardware (Cameras, servers, switches, etc.)
• Follow blueprints precisely to ensure the work is being carried out correctly.
• Fully complete all paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
• Adhere to and participate in all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
