About the position

The Data Center Technician is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the critical infrastructure systems of a data center, providing support to colocation customers and building tenants. This role involves investigating internal alerts, ensuring compliance with service and security requirements, and establishing efficiencies across the enterprise. The position operates fully onsite during the 3rd shift, from 7 PM to 7 AM, and offers opportunities for growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Critical Facilities Monitoring System and provide reactive, notification, and escalation services for alarm events.
  • Deliver physical and remote support for local and international colocation customers in a 24/7/365 facility.
  • Monitor and assist with customer support requests through a web-based ticketing system.
  • Execute sales orders and prepare facilities for new customer environments.
  • Conduct hourly walkthroughs of the facility to verify and collect readings from critical equipment.
  • Assist with physical security monitoring using cameras and access controls.
  • Perform rack and stack tasks for customer equipment as required.
  • Carry out routine operational tasks including equipment handling and troubleshooting.
  • Manage customer package deliveries through receiving and shipping processes.
  • Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; industry-related certifications or an associate degree in a technical field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in data center operations or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Fundamental understanding of data center cooling and power infrastructure is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with supervisors and local site teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Operate with a 'safety first' mindset, following emergency procedures.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Highest ethical and professional conduct and integrity.
