About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Amazon Web Services (AWS) involves maintaining and troubleshooting data center infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of AWS's global infrastructure. Technicians will engage in physical activities related to capacity planning, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack management, all while adhering to safety and security standards. This position requires a strong technical aptitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in physical data center activities including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Lift and move materials up to 49 pounds each.
  • Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
  • Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day, and safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways.
  • Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Take ownership of technical issues and engage other teams to drive resolution.
  • Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+ certification.
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
