About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves installing and maintaining cabling and network infrastructure within data centers. Technicians will work on various installations, including cabinets, cable trays, and fiber runners, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders to overcome project challenges and a commitment to delivering sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Install cabinets, cable trays, ladder racks, fiber runners, containment, and trunks in data centers.
• Decommission network and cabling infrastructure as needed.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain cleanliness in the data center.
• Follow production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation.

Requirements

• Experience in cable installation and data center operations.
• Broad understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn the trade.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with data center procedures such as physical security, decommissioning, and logistics.
• Willingness to train and teach individuals with no prior cabling experience.
