About the position

The Data Center Technician role is a full-time position responsible for performing daily inspections and maintenance of data center equipment. The technician will assist the Operations Head in troubleshooting, replacing, and installing machines, while also ensuring safety and operational efficiency within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections/audits of data center equipment.
• Assist Operations Head with troubleshooting of machines.
• Visually inspect machines for layer one issues (e.g., ethernet cables, power cables).
• Assist Operations Head with the replacement of faulty machines.
• Help with the installation of new machines as directed by the Operations Head.
• Communicate safety concerns to the Operations Head or Site Manager.
• Assist with loading and unloading of parts and machines.
• Serve as a backup for the Operations Head when they are not onsite.
• Conduct weekly inventory audits.
• Assist Operations Head with additional tasks as assigned.
• Complete all facilities-related maintenance tasks, such as filter changes and lawn upkeep.

Requirements

• Ability to stay in close quarters for extended periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors during all four seasons.
• Ability to independently lift 50 lbs.
• Regularly walk, stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push, and pull.
• Ability to operate equipment and use various hand tools, including hammers and knives.
