The Data Center Technician Level 3 position is a contract role based in Santa Clara, CA, offering a pay rate starting from $38 per hour. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the client with the rack, stack, and installation of key data center equipment. The technician will be involved in troubleshooting common issues, managing various tickets, and acting as a level 1 administrator for any data center-related problems. This position requires a strong background in data center operations, particularly in large-scale environments, and the ability to work independently while demonstrating attention to detail. The technician will be expected to have a minimum of 5 years of on-premises experience in large-scale data centers, supporting various equipment and infrastructure components such as power, space, cooling, and other essential data center equipment. Strong cabling skills, including cable management and dressing, are crucial for this role. Additionally, the technician should possess robust network troubleshooting experience, particularly with Supermicro Servers, Infiniband Fabric, Mellanox, and Arista Hardware. A solid understanding of UNIX systems, specifically Ubuntu or RedHat, is also required, along with the ability to execute basic commands for monitoring server health and addressing disk failures. This role is expected to operate on a standard 8-hour shift, with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. The technician will be required to work on-site and may need to travel to different locations as part of their duties. The contract duration is anticipated to be over 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.
