About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves providing facility operations support in a Data Center environment for a Fortune 500 company. This contract position has strong potential for conversion to a permanent full-time role. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing computer/server hardware, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, and monitoring critical systems such as HVAC and power distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair failures with computer/server hardware.
• Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues and retrieve IP addresses from network cards.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware components such as RAM, CPU, Network Cards (NIC), Motherboard, PSU, etc.
• Monitor critical systems including HVAC, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, and computer room air handlers.

Requirements

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Google IT Support Cert) and/or an IT-related degree (Associates or Bachelors) is a huge plus.
• Thorough knowledge of computer hardware components (building/troubleshooting).
• Some HVAC and critical systems monitoring experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.
• Good leadership and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Data Center experience is a plus.
