About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Insight Global involves providing technical support and management for data center operations, specifically for a Fortune 500 financial client in the NJ/NYC area. The position requires a strong background in data center management, including the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment. The technician will work closely with team members to ensure efficient operations and reporting within the data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage installs, moves, adds, and changes within the data center.
• Racking and stacking of network equipment.
• Provisioning of equipment within the IT space.
• Utilize Patch Manager toolkit to patch and connect hardware according to schedules and schematics.
• Provide reporting and collaborate with team members to enhance data center operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of enterprise-level experience as a Data Center Technician.
• Strong understanding of power loading and power phase balancing.
• Experience with cabling (3 years required).
• Experience in data center operations (3 years required).
• 1 year of experience with Patch Manager.

Nice-to-haves
