About the position

The Data Center Technician role involves hands-on work in a fast-paced data center environment, focusing on the installation, testing, and maintenance of servers and network assets. The technician will perform tasks such as rack and stack operations, cabling installation, and device troubleshooting, while collaborating with team members to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack on servers and network assets in a data center.
• Install and test fiber and copper cabling.
• Terminate copper cabling as needed.
• Reboot devices and demonstrate general familiarity with server operations.
• Use a Fluke cable tester for testing cabling (preferred).
• Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor.
• Install servers weighing up to 40-50 lbs with the aid of a server lift and teamwork.
• Participate in troubleshooting calls and communicate with clients.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience working in a data center.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing environments.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Outside accreditations related to data center operations.
• Customer service experience.
• Experience using a Fluke cable tester.
• Tenure with relevant experience.
