In this role, you will support the installation and maintenance of all electrical, electronic, mechanical, and heating & cooling critical infrastructure within the data center environment. The Data Center Technician will provide essential support to all SUPERNAP facility operations teams when assigned. This position requires a proactive approach to finding creative solutions to minimize operational costs while working collaboratively with team members to improve overall efficiency. A basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is crucial, as these systems are integral to the data center's functionality. The technician will be involved in various tasks, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical infrastructure components. This may encompass working with electrical feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, DC power systems, ATS/STS units, PDU units, air handling units, cooling towers, and fire suppression systems. The role also includes on-call responsibilities when qualified and designated, ensuring that the facility operates smoothly and efficiently at all times. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for providing requested reporting and documentation, supporting facility development and construction teams, and responding to customer requests, power, cooling, and facility audits. Investigating any power, communication, or cooling anomalies is also a key part of the job, requiring a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
