About the position

The Data Center Technician role at TEKsystems involves the installation and maintenance of cable and fiber in data centers. The position requires individuals with proven experience in data center infrastructure installation, focusing on delivering sustainable solutions and maintaining high-quality standards in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Install cabinets, cable trays, ladder racks, fiber runners, containment, and trunks.
• Perform installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Ensure quality workmanship and maintain data center cleanliness.
• Adhere to all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
• Maintain a broad understanding of data center infrastructure technologies.

Requirements

• Structured cabling (Cat5, Cat6)
• CATV and telecommunications
• Cable pulling

Nice-to-haves

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with data center procedures (e.g., physical security, decommissioning, logistics) is preferred.
• Some cabling experience is ideal.
