About the position

Maxar Intelligence is seeking a Data Center Technician to support physical data centers at a hardware level. This role involves working with a small team to ensure the operational success of data centers, focusing on cabling infrastructure, server deployment, and maintenance. The technician will be responsible for both local and remote projects, contributing to the overall mission of delivering secure and precise geospatial intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project design teams and facilities on cabling infrastructure in offices in local and remote locations
  • Travel to and from east coast, west coast, and mountain facilities in support of cabling projects
  • Design cabling inside data centers and critical IT spaces
  • Run and maintain the data center, including structured cabling, power, and cooling in racks
  • Track and label all connections and assets in IT spaces and data centers
  • Monitor ticket queues and coordinate maintenance with internal team members
  • Work with remote hands in out-of-state locations to troubleshoot and resolve incidents
  • Install servers, storage, and network gear into server racks
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24x7 operations

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
  • Experience with server deployment and troubleshooting
  • Ability to travel 20% between facilities
  • Ability to be on call on a rotational basis

  • Experience with structured cable design and implementation

  • Previous experience with medium-to-large-scale infrastructure installations
