About the position
As a CBRE Union Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining building system operations, including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems. This role involves providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure all systems operate efficiently and comply with applicable standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility.
- Maintain systems to applicable standards and comply with codes and regulations.
- Implement and maintain an energy management program for efficient system operation.
- Assist in the preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems.
- Perform emergency repairs as needed and maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Review inspections of building systems to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with design capabilities.
- Apply knowledge of standard principles and techniques to solve routine problems and accomplish tasks.
- Model behaviors consistent with the company's RISE values and lead by example.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience.
- Universal CFC certification is preferred.
- Certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more, and climbing stairs/ladders.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and advanced math skills for calculations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in building operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of energy management systems.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and hazardous materials handling.
