About the position

The Data Clerk position is a critical role within the manufacturing environment at Morgan Truck Body LLC, focusing on the procurement and management of indirect materials and shop supplies. The role involves maintaining purchase orders, ensuring accurate inventory flow, and supporting the operations team with necessary documentation and communication. This position serves as a stepping stone towards a salaried buyer planner role, emphasizing organizational skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Purchase all indirect material and shop supplies using history reports and input from authorized departments and management.
• Communicate and confirm purchase orders to vendors.
• Maintain all purchase order due dates and comments in the database.
• Manage all direct material purchases and budget requirements.
• Communicate item information to maintenance that may affect repair plans.
• Notify receiving of hot orders or incoming shortages and ensure orders reach their destination.
• Audit ordered items and verify the accuracy of received items.
• Assign proper accounting codes to invoices and control paperwork flow for direct material requests.
• Address and correct all accounting issues with direct material orders.
• Complete any other assigned tasks from the Department Manager.
• Create and process work order packages for operations and control the process flow of work orders.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Materials or Warehousing preferred.
• Working knowledge of materials required for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations).
• Above average computer skills.
