About the position

The Structured Cabling Technology Apprentice position at Hunt Electric is designed for individuals with basic experience or understanding of structured cabling principles. This full-time role involves working in a team environment to assist with the installation of low voltage electrical technologies, ensuring project delivery is on time and within budget while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The apprentice will report to an area Foreman or Project Foreman and is expected to demonstrate dependability, organization, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of low voltage electrical technologies
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Understand and adhere to safety principles
  • Take direction from superiors
  • Pull cable effectively
  • Read basic construction drawings
  • Demonstrate teamwork
  • Terminate copper network cabling
  • Test copper network cabling
  • Gain exposure to fiber optic systems
  • Exhibit quality craftsmanship
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Report to work on time
  • Perform other duties or locations as assigned by the Manager

Requirements

  • 12 months of experience in the structured cabling industry
  • Experience working in a crew setting
  • Strong regard for safety
  • Punctuality
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Own tools as per tool list

Nice-to-haves

  • 18 months of experience in the structured cabling industry
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of project scope of work
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • History of successful/safe performance in the construction industry
  • Comprehension of copper system cabling principles
