About the position

The Data Control Clerk II position is a part-time role focused on managing incoming calls to the hospital, ensuring accurate information is provided while adhering to hospital policies. The role involves maintaining computerized databases, dispatching services, and responding to emergency notifications, all while demonstrating service excellence and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming calls to the hospital's main number, emergency lines, and patient information lines.
  • Provide accurate information regarding the hospital, its patients, and staff while ensuring adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date computerized databases and on-call schedules in a timely manner.
  • Dispatch services to respond to callers and enter data into the Work Ticket Management system.
  • Receive and activate routine and emergency notification requests, such as overhead paging announcements and activation of pagers.
  • Identify and summarize key issues and data trends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certification required.
  • Two (2) years of clerical/data entry experience, preferably in a customer service-oriented setting.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent telephone etiquette required.
  • Must be a team player with strong time and stress management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must.
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Additional customer service experience may be substituted for clerical experience at management's discretion.
