About The Position

The Senior Data Developer, Team Lead at Peraton will oversee the data operations specialists within the CFTC Market Data Operations (MDO) team. This role focuses on data architecture, analytical support, and the automation of manual quality checks for electronic data received at the Commission. The position requires a strong technical background in data analysis and development, as well as effective communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience with a BS/BA; 3 years with an MS/MA; 0 years with a PhD.
  • Working knowledge of the derivatives market (futures, options, etc.).
  • Experience in automation/development in an AWS environment.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, S3, Redshift, RDS, DMS, SageMaker, QuickSight.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Statistical Analysis System (SAS).
  • Experience with SAS JMP and MATLAB.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPivot, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence Platform and Markit.

  • Active Public Trust clearance.
  • Master's degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics, or a related field with 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a technical lead role, overseeing the work of 3 data operations specialists.
  • Perform routine data checks and develop automation for quality checks.
  • Communicate with exchange personnel to request incomplete data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure reporting entities submit accurate and complete position data, taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Request missing position data from reporting entities and ensure timely receipt of information.
  • Monitor daily exchange reporting, including permanent record and clearing member data.
  • Analyze futures and derivatives data, resolving reporting problems as they arise.
  • Enter data into the Integrated Surveillance System (ISS) and ensure correct association with traders.
  • Resolve data issues related to the weekly Commitment of Traders report publication.
  • Conduct data reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy against source data.
  • Monitor market participants' performance regarding submission timeliness and error rates.
  • Review and analyze firms' position, ownership, and control data for compliance and quality.
  • Respond to data inquiries from other divisions.
