About the position

The Data Domain Lead, Service Asset Management & MRO will play a pivotal role in Xylem's transformation efforts through the ERP Program. This position is designed for an individual who is not only adept at consulting internally but also capable of setting standards and expectations that drive sustainable and scalable improvements across the Service Asset Management & MRO area, utilizing both SAP and non-SAP platforms. The role requires extensive coordination between the IT organization and business teams, where the individual will serve as a teacher, troubleshooter, and liaison in this domain. A successful candidate will be expected to build strong partnerships with both business and technology stakeholders, demonstrating effective change management skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business acumen, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple initiatives while providing stewardship and oversight of key master data. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leveraging relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance, IT, and Master Data. You will work closely with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and maintain a functional understanding of existing processes and any data challenges that may arise. Additionally, you will create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for implementing global master data management standards and data governance, ensuring alignment with best practices. Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying opportunities across different businesses and legacy ERP systems to drive value as a data-driven organization. You will also be expected to connect and influence through a shared vision to drive innovation and the adoption of new tools and processes, collaborating to align master data management and data governance standards with the Global ERP rollout. The position demands excellence in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and control. You will provide thought leadership and a vision for the future of data, ensuring a scalable platform for speed and efficiency. Facilitating meetings with technical and business resources, documenting outcomes, and ensuring compliance with government or regulatory standards (such as SOX and PCI) will also be part of your responsibilities. Engaging with the ERP team will involve handling governance, planning, acquisition, development, and delivery of new and existing data capabilities in ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key player of the ERP transformation program
  • Develop and leverage relationships with key stakeholders including Finance, IT and Master Data
  • Work closely with business SME personnel to develop and maintain a functional understanding and documentation of existing processes and data challenges
  • Create SOPs for implementing global master data management standards and data governance
  • Analyze and align opportunities across different businesses and legacy ERP systems
  • Connect and influence through shared vision to drive innovation and adoption of new tools and processes
  • Collaborate to align master data management and data governance standards with the Global ERP rollout

Requirements

  • Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience; or Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
  • Proven experience in Master Data Management and Data Governance specific to Service Asset Management & MRO processes
  • Understanding of modern Master Data Management Concepts and Data Quality approaches, tools, techniques, vendor landscape and best practices
  • Proven analytical capabilities when managing ambiguity, supporting process management, process re-engineering and data management
  • Experience with understanding relationships between data fields throughout a system
  • Data mapping and data modeling experience
  • Organization and priority setting skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills using available resources
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with users of varying levels of technological understanding and stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Possesses good time management skills and has the ability to self-manage support/issue priorities
  • Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment
  • 4 or more years of experience in deploying and supporting complex solutions using master data and data governance technologies
