About the position

The Data Engineer position at Amazon Robotics involves designing and developing data, metrics, and reporting platforms to support the Software Research and Science team. This role focuses on implementing automated data solutions, including big data capabilities, to enhance machine learning and analytics, while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in monitoring data pipelines and collaborating across teams to gather requirements and build scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement solutions for data storage, reporting, science and analytics.
• Incorporate big data solutions to enhance machine learning, analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines.
• Setup internal dashboard tools for data visualization.
• Work across teams to gather requirements for data logging, storing, transforming, and reporting, and build scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of data engineering experience
• 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
• Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
