About the position

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Engineer Analyst who will provide data engineering and analysis consulting to a Department of the Army client as part of a financial information operations team responsible for harnessing, cleaning, merging, transforming, and analyzing large amounts of related data. Delivers intuitive and user-friendly data visualization dashboards and applications based on this data, to foster a data-driven decision-making approach. The team follows an Agile/Scrum methodology, iterating rapidly in 2-week sprints and constantly engaging with the client for feedback, quickly transforming that feedback into formal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a data engineer analyst on the Business Transformation team
  • Consulting with the client to develop automated data pipelines that back intuitive and user-friendly data visualization dashboards and applications.
  • Importing data into a visualization engine from various external sources and developing other web-based query applications.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • THREE (3) or more years of experience related to Data Science or Data Management or Data Engineering or Financial Management and/or Technology Consulting

Nice-to-haves

  • An Active and current secret federal security clearance
  • Experience in performing software development efforts with clear examples of value added to the client
  • Experience interacting with end-users to understand and document business and functional requirements for complex projects, as well as collaborating with technical teams across the full software development life cycle
  • Experience developing web-based user visualizations using JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Palantir Foundry, Advana, MS Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.). Examples of migration between multiple visualization tools is a plus
  • Understanding and experience working with cloud infrastructure services like Azure, Amazon Web Services & Google Cloud; with a heavy emphasis on AWS
  • Demonstrable experience with web applications. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) orchestration, cloud architecture, data API integration, data analytics, AI, big data platforms, and automating machine learning components
  • Experience in any database technology (e.g., SQL Server/Azure Cosmos DB/Amazon Athena)
  • Experience working with query languages such as SQL or PySpark
  • Experience in at least one statistical programming language (e.g., Python, R)
