About the position

The Analytics, Data Engineering team at Meta is seeking a passionate Data Engineer who is eager to work with analytics and technology to make a significant impact. This role is integral to the data warehouse team, which collaborates closely with Product Managers, Product Analysts, and Internet Marketers. The primary focus is on leveraging massive amounts of data to acquire new users, retain existing users, and optimize user experience. As a Data Engineer, you will directly contribute to the company's growth and user satisfaction by solving complex business problems on both web and mobile platforms at an unparalleled scale. In this position, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and deploying new data models and processes in a production environment. You will perform data analysis to generate actionable business insights and interface with various stakeholders to understand product goals and data requirements. Additionally, you will build expertise in data management and ensure data quality for your designated areas of responsibility. Managing data warehouse plans for specific products and supporting critical data processes running in production will also be key aspects of your role. Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement and deploy new data models and data processes in production
  • Perform data analysis to generate business insights
  • Interface with Engineers, Product Managers and Product Analysts to understand product goals and data needs
  • Build data expertise and own data quality for allocated areas of ownership
  • Manage data warehouse plans for a product or a group of products
  • Support critical data processes running in production

Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
  • Programming knowledge in Python or Java
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of database systems
  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
