Your expertise will help create and integrate datasets that assist PBOT with operating efficiently and accurately. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, administering, and maintaining processes that move and integrate data between systems that are internally or externally hosted. This includes using technologies such as Python, SQL Server, Apache Spark, and PowerShell. You will work with various systems including SQL Server, ESRI geodatabases, IBM Maximo, Azure storage, external and internal APIs, and file shares. Additionally, you will guide other team members in developing and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring that data flows seamlessly across platforms. Your role will also involve database administration, where you will develop database schemas, manage users and roles, perform data maintenance tasks, and execute ad-hoc queries. You will be tasked with optimizing queries to increase efficiency and manage the promotion and testing of changes through deployment environments. Furthermore, you will design and develop reports, visualizations, and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, and PowerBI, collaborating with users to understand their needs and develop solutions that help them utilize data effectively. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, data analysts, and business system analysts to develop solutions for PBOT. Documenting data processes, systems, and workflows will be essential to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team. PBOT is dedicated to planning, building, managing, and maintaining an effective and safe transportation system that provides people and businesses access and mobility. As part of the PBOT Technology Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that improve transportation infrastructure and services throughout the city.
