The Data Engineer/Architecture Manager at Citi plays a pivotal role in managing a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology Team. This position is essential for driving applications systems analysis and programming activities, ensuring that the bank's technology solutions are robust and effective. The overall objective is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data management processes across various business lines and products. In this role, the manager will be responsible for tracing lineage for client metrics, designing and maintaining a blueprint of lineage record tracing, and developing logical data models along with data quality rule recommendations. The position requires the development of conceptual, logical, and metadata solutions using JSON schema, as well as defining and rationalizing target state logical data models. The manager will also unify data concepts across finance, product leads, credit risk, and applications, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed. The Data Engineer/Architecture Manager will lead requirement gathering sessions with business leads, operations, subject matter experts (SMEs), technologists, and governance teams. This involves inventorying lineage records to create end-to-end transparency and exposing fragmented data functions for process simplification. A passion for working with data, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, is essential for success in this role. Additionally, the manager will provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, influencing and negotiating with senior leaders across functions, and communicating effectively with external parties as necessary.
