About the position

As a Data Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a crucial role in enabling data-driven decision-making within the AWS Data Center Infrastructure Operations organization. The Infrastructure Operations Team is tasked with the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the global Amazon Data Center infrastructure. This team supports various aspects of the Data Center operations, including safety, security, maintenance, daily operations, logistics, engineering, and equipment management. In this position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the information data lake, as well as utilizing insight platforms to support decision-making processes across the organization. Your role will require excellent business and communication skills, as you will collaborate with business owners to understand their data and reporting requirements. You should be passionate about working with large datasets and adept at integrating data to answer business questions and drive growth. Your responsibilities will include building ETL processes to ingest data into the data warehouse and data lake, as well as creating end-user facing reporting applications. While your primary focus will be on supporting teams within the Infrastructure environment, you will also have opportunities to assist teams across the broader AWS community. You will work closely with business customers and development teams to define analytics requirements and deliver flexible, scalable, end-to-end solutions. This role offers the chance to work with big data and emerging technologies while driving business intelligence solutions from start to finish, including business requirements gathering, data modeling, ETL processes, metadata management, reporting, and dashboard creation. You should possess expertise in the design, creation, management, and business utilization of large datasets. AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This means you will be part of a team that ensures the cloud remains operational, supporting all AWS data centers and the associated servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that provide customers with continuous access to the innovations they rely on. You will tackle complex challenges with numerous variables impacting the supply chain, and we are looking for talented individuals who are eager to contribute. Joining our diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other essential roles, you will collaborate with colleagues across AWS to uphold the highest standards for safety and security while delivering seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
