About The Position
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Digital Technology (DT) team in a remote capacity. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code for data analysis, processing, and migrations. The Data Engineer will implement and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, load, and migrate structured and unstructured data from various sources using VAULTIS. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of data models, applications, and data migrations. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Data Engineer will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data needs, design data products, and deliver solutions based on data mesh principles. The successful candidate will ensure that systems meet business requirements, adhere to industry practices, and align with data mesh concepts such as treating data as a product, creating self-serve data platforms, and establishing shared responsibility for data infrastructure. To excel in this role, candidates must maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and new technologies in the data engineering field, particularly focusing on data mesh and data as a product.
