About the position

The Intermediate Software Developer at Follett School Solutions plays a crucial role in data analysis and software development, focusing on transforming data into actionable insights. This position emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and the application of advanced data principles, including Data Mesh architecture, to enhance data accessibility and reliability across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Act as the data wrangler, manipulator, and analyzer to turn numbers into insights.
• Utilize ETL (extract, transform, load) processes for big data.
• Work with Kafka for data streaming.
• Familiarize with Cloud Platforms, such as Azure.
• Develop models using star schema best practices.
• Design and implement custom data insights using Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the data mesh architecture.
• Ensure data accessibility, reliability, and scalability across the organization.
• Perform database performance tuning.
• Participate in security exercises to sharpen skills.
• Write efficient database queries to extract and manipulate data for analysis and reporting.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Web development skills in Java, Python, C#, or equivalent.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
