About the position

The Data Engineer/Data Architect role is focused on leading and managing a high-performing data architecture team while maintaining vendor relationships. The position requires a strong technical background in data engineering and architecture, particularly with Postgres, Python, and Azure Stack. The individual will serve as a technical leader within the Data and Analytics team, responsible for shaping comprehensive solutions for complex data and analytics systems. Effective communication of architecture and design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential, as is the ability to translate business objectives into actionable data science use cases.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vendor relationships with a focus on Data Engineering/Data Architecture.
• Recruit and manage a high-performing data architecture team.
• Serve as a technical leader on the Data and Analytics team.
• Shape comprehensive solutions for complex data and analytics systems and infrastructure.
• Communicate architecture and design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead solutioning sessions with business clients, translating objectives into actionable use cases.
• Build and develop relationships with technology partners and own joint sales pursuits.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working as a Data Architect in the data space.
• Experience with Postgres, Python, and Azure Stack.
• Experience in building business cases for cloud migration/modernization.
• Must have presented at industry conferences or published whitepapers.
• Expertise in defining, architecting, and delivering data and analytics solutions on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure cloud.
• Experience with Snowflake and hybrid cloud systems.
• Experience developing and deploying solutions with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Nice-to-haves

• Management consulting experience is a plus.
