About the position

Amazon Last Mile DSP is seeking an extraordinary Data Engineer to join the DSP Analytics team. This role is crucial in providing end-to-end engineering solutions to support key business initiatives related to the safety of drivers. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data pipelines, leveraging cloud architectures, and delivering data-driven insights that impact day-to-day decision-making at Amazon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with data, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex data pipelines in Amazon's platform and other BI solutions.
  • Develop new engineering patterns that leverage new cloud architectures.
  • Extend or migrate existing data pipelines to new architectures as needed.
  • Provide end-to-end engineering solutions to support key business initiatives related to driver safety.
  • Work with business owners to understand their data requirements and build scalable data solutions.
  • Craft, implement, and operate stable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions to manage data flow from multiple production systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience working on and delivering end-to-end projects independently.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications.
