About the position

As a Data Engineer in the Global E-Commerce team at TikTok, you will play a crucial role in building and optimizing one of the largest data platforms in the world. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of systems within the data platform ecosystem, directly impacting the company's core products and the experience of hundreds of millions of users. You will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable, scalable, and robust big data systems that support TikTok's E-Commerce platform. Your work will involve creating data transformations for various purposes, including reporting and growth analysis, while establishing best engineering practices for both technical and non-technical team members. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about big data technologies and eager to contribute to a dynamic and innovative team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data transformations efficiently and reliably for different purposes (e.g. reporting, growth analysis, multi-dimensional analysis).
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, robust and extensible big data systems that support core products and business.
• Establish solid design and best engineering practices for engineers as well as non-technical people.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, M/R, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, Flink, etc.).
• Experience with performing data analysis, data ingestion, and data integration.
• Experience with ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading) and architecting data systems.
• Experience with schema design, data modeling, and SQL queries.
• Passionate and self-motivated about technologies in the Big Data area.
