About the position
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer specializing in ETL processes and Python, with a strong background in data warehousing and cloud solutions, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves refining data models, improving existing ETL code, and collaborating with business teams to meet data reporting requirements. The position is hybrid, requiring the candidate to be local to Colorado and in the office one day a week.
Responsibilities
- Refine Data Warehouse Model.
- Improve existing Python ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) code.
- Work with business teams to identify data reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Data Analysis and Data Modeling with 8+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in Cloud solutions with 3 years of experience.
- Knowledge/Experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Airflow, NiFi, dbt, or similar with 5+ years of experience.
- Familiarity with Data Warehouse methodologies like Inmon, Kimball, or Data Vault with 5+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in SQL, ideally with experience in MS SQL Server and Google BigQuery with 3+ years of experience.
- Hands-on experience in Python ETL coding with 3+ years of experience.
- Familiarity with Python libraries such as Pandas, SqlAlchemy, etc. with 3+ years of experience.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Git, Terraform, etc. with 3+ years of experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in reporting tools like Tableau or R Shiny.
- Experience working with public health data is a plus.
- A keen interest in code and quality assurance.
