About the position

The Data Engineer position at Meta involves designing and developing innovative data solutions to support product and business teams in making data-driven decisions. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop creative and innovative solutions to manipulate and transform data from diverse domains.
  • Architect and develop data solutions to assist product and business teams in data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead data solution design efforts and oversee the development and implementation of data integration processes.
  • Provide insights that influence the strategy for scalable data solutions and data warehouse environments.
  • Leverage ETL frameworks and tools for data processing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data infrastructure and engineering teams to enhance ETL and reporting frameworks.
  • Consult with business partners to clarify objectives, determine project scope, and recommend solutions.
  • Support end users on ad hoc data usage and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Develop ETL processes using Python, PHP, or similar technologies.
  • Manage large volumes of data using ETL techniques and best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
  • Two years of work experience in data warehouse space, custom ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with DSQL and development in at least one programming language: Java, C++, Perl, PHP, or Python.
  • Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, schema design, and software development.
  • Experience leading data-driven projects from definition through execution.
  • Familiarity with large data sets, Hadoop, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects and communicate data warehouse plans to stakeholders.
