About the position
The Data Engineer will leverage advanced analytical, technical, and conceptual skills to deliver cloud-native software solutions for various clients. This role involves adapting to client needs through Agile product development, providing input on architectural and software solutions, and ensuring effective communication with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with client stakeholders and complete project tasks aligned with customer roadmaps.
- Develop technical and non-technical connections within the team and with customer stakeholders.
- Apply software development experience using analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Spark, and Hadoop.
- Build, test, scale, and maintain cloud-native data pipelines.
- Contribute to the design, execution, and delivery of large-scale data solutions, including data discovery, cleaning, model selection, validation, and deployment.
- Work with OLTP and OLAP databases.
- Utilize DevOps tools like AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Implement infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Gain hands-on experience with serverless compute platforms like AWS Lambda and AWS Glue.
- Familiarize with AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Q, Bedrock, and Sagemaker.
Requirements
- AS or BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, or related area preferred, or equivalent education.
- 3-5 years of software development experience.
- Strong communication skills for clear information exchange with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience implementing a data pipeline for an enterprise application.
- Strong analysis, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional customer service focus.
- Highly organized and accurate.
- Strong initiative and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, self-organizing team environment.
- Willingness to provide and accept feedback.
- Ability to work independently while asking questions when needed.
