About the position

The Data Engineer at Mindex will leverage advanced analytical, technical, and conceptual skills to deliver cloud-native software solutions for various clients. This role involves engaging with client stakeholders, adapting to project challenges, and providing input on architectural and software solutions. Effective communication is essential to align clients, senior management, and staff throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with client stakeholders and complete project tasks that align with the customers' roadmap and vision.
  • Develop both technical and non-technical connections within the team and with customer stakeholders.
  • Apply software development experience using analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Spark, and Hadoop.
  • Build, test, scale, and maintain cloud-native data pipelines.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale data solutions, including data discovery, cleaning, model selection, validation, and deployment.
  • Work with OLTP and OLAP databases.
  • Utilize DevOps tools like AWS CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Gain hands-on experience with serverless compute platforms like AWS Lambda and AWS Glue.
  • Familiarize with AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Q, Bedrock, and Sagemaker.

Requirements

  • AS or BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics, or related area preferred, or an equivalent combination of education.
  • 3-5 years of software development experience.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience implementing a data pipeline for an enterprise application.
  • Strong analysis, critical-thinking capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong focus on exceptional customer service.
  • Highly organized and accurate.
  • Strong initiative and follow-through skills.
  • Aptitude and desire to work in a highly collaborative, self-organizing team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to provide and accept feedback.
  • Ability to work independently but ask questions when needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certification (Associate or Foundational) or applicable industry certifications preferred.
