About the position

The Data Engineer I position at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a full-time role that reports directly to the Manager of Analytics. This role is integral to supporting MUSC's academic, research, and healthcare missions. The Data Engineer I will engage in a variety of operational, consultative, and collaborative functions within the Information Solutions department. The primary focus of this position is to assist in the implementation and maintenance of the analytics program, which is crucial for informed decision-making, strategic planning, performance improvement, and achieving key operational goals. This will be accomplished through the development of valid, relevant, and high-quality decision support reports, dashboards, and other analytic tools. In this role, the Data Engineer I will provide both proactive and reactive support, ensuring that all tasks are performed with a professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills. The position requires maintaining professional standards while delivering high-quality analytics support. The Data Engineer I will be expected to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to frame analytic problems, identify key stakeholders, acquire and prepare data, select and apply appropriate analytic tools, and produce actionable results that drive the organization’s objectives forward.
