About the position
The Data Engineer I position at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is designed to support the organization's academic, research, and healthcare missions. Reporting to the Manager of Data Engineering, this role involves operational, technical, and collaborative functions within the data management team. The Data Engineer I will assist in maintaining and supporting the Data Warehouse, ETL processes, and analytics infrastructure, contributing to organizational decision-making and performance improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance and support of the Data Warehouse.
- Support ETL processes and data extracts.
- Provide operational and technical support within the data management function.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance analytics infrastructure.
- Demonstrate good customer service skills while providing support.
Requirements
- High school diploma with two years of directly related experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn new database technologies and acquire and prepare data.
- Demonstrated logic and coding capability.
- Process improvement thinking.
- Proficiency in SQL Server preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
