About the position

Amazon's Intelligent Talent Acquisition team is looking for a Data Engineer I to develop new data products from the ground up. This role focuses on building scalable ETL processes and managing large datasets to support business analytics and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable ETL processes in the data warehouse platform.
• Develop and tune SQL for optimized solutions to business needs.
• Collaborate with business analysts and engineers to design the data warehouse for reporting and analytics.

Requirements

• 1+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell)
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Master's degree
