About the position

The Data Engineer I position within Amazon's Seller Services organization focuses on delivering data-driven analytical solutions to empower sellers on Amazon's global platform. The role involves constructing and maintaining complex data pipelines and building scalable solutions using AWS tools, with a strong emphasis on data architecture and ETL processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and lead data engineering initiatives.
• Build end-to-end analytical solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Design, implement, and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics and data science.
• Implement data ingestion routines using best practices in data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.
• Gather business and functional requirements and translate them into robust, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers to adopt best practices in data system creation and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for improvements in existing data solutions.

Requirements

• 1+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Experience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, KornShell).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
• Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage.
