About the position

The Data Engineer I position within the Enterprise Data Platforms, Risk and Finance Technology team focuses on building high-performing data and analytical solutions. The role involves enhancing existing Data Frameworks and developing new frameworks to address data challenges across the enterprise. The Data Engineer I will collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver enterprise capabilities and will be responsible for building and deploying data products, including driving architecture, design, build, test, and support applications in production.

Responsibilities

• Build technical solutions for Data Frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing frameworks and create new reusable frameworks.
• Build robust data pipelines to collect, process, and compute metrics from various financial sources, adhering to quality and development standards.
• Design application architecture and technical design, articulating data frameworks to team members and data engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to develop optimal solutions that meet data demands.
• Deploy high-performing, quality/bug-free code in production.
• Execute unit tests of data populated in target data containers, validating expected results and ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate with business users for User Acceptance Testing and with the Operations team for code deployment to upper environments.
• Follow change management team stipulations on path to production requirements and adhere to compliance and regulatory needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a Data Related field.
• SQL abilities.
• Programming experience in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud providers.
• Exposure to open source capabilities such as Apache Spark and Kafka is a plus.
