About the position

The Data Engineer I is responsible for overseeing the storage, processing, and management of large volumes of medical imagery data, specifically in the context of a multi-year project aimed at improving surgical outcomes for cancer patients. This role involves ensuring the integrity and availability of critical data while working on advanced machine-learning techniques to enhance cancer treatment devices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the storage and management of petabytes of medical imagery data.
  • Ensure the integrity and availability of critical data.
  • Collaborate on a multi-year project to improve surgical outcomes for cancer patients.
  • Utilize advanced machine-learning techniques to detect residual tumor cells.
  • Assist in the development of a device for real-time scanning and results presentation during surgeries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 4 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or working with medical imagery.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with data security and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
