Responsibilities

  • Join the development team and engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Produce clean, well-documented code to ensure clarity and maintainability.
  • Build and operate highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets.
  • Maintain awareness of advancements in data engineering, cloud data platforms, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with peers across environments to solve problems and enhance solutions.
  • Effectively communicate ideas and approaches to colleagues and stakeholders, providing thorough explanations and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; technical degree preferred.
  • Solid grasp of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Proficiency in a development language such as Java, Python, Scala, or Kotlin.
  • Understanding of relational databases and NoSQL distributed databases (e.g., ScyllaDB, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of Apache Spark, Qubole, Confluent Kafka, and stateful stream processing (e.g., Faust, Java KafkaConsumer, KafkaProducer, and KafkaStreams).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud technology and enterprise information management.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data science concepts.
