About the position

The Data Engineer II at Happy State Bank is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining databases for data storage, processing, and analytics. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, archiving, recovery, and reporting. The Data Engineer II will also manage ETL processes and oversee the database and cloud infrastructure, ensuring data quality and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implementation, and administration of database systems in a team environment.
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of industry/vendor technology and trends.
• Oversee projects from planning to completion to meet organizational requirements.
• Oversee regular maintenance of database systems.
• Provide guidance and assist in maintaining and troubleshooting software applications.
• Guide level one engineers and technicians in troubleshooting and resolution.
• Conduct research and consult with VP Network Administration on new storage and systems purchases.
• Develop and maintain Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.
• Monitor and maintain database and cloud infrastructure.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a four-year college degree plus 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Broad knowledge of fields such as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
• Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
