About the position

Our client is currently seeking a Data Engineer II to join their team in a remote capacity. This position is ideal for individuals who possess strong SQL skills and have a solid background in data integration tools. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines that facilitate the movement and transformation of data across various systems. The role requires a deep understanding of SQL Server, including the use of stored procedures, as well as experience with data integration tools such as Matillion, SQL SSIS, or DBT. In addition to SQL expertise, the ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of Python scripting and familiarity with Snowflake database loading. Experience with AWS cloud file storage, particularly S3 buckets, is also necessary. The Data Engineer will be expected to call APIs for data retrieval and mapping results, which is considered a good-to-have skill. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for data movement and transformation.
  • Utilize strong SQL skills to manage and manipulate data within SQL Server.

  • Write and optimize stored procedures for data processing.
  • Perform basic Python scripting to automate data tasks.
  • Load data into Snowflake and manage database operations.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL skills with 8+ years of experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with data integration tools (Matillion, SQL SSIS, or DBT).
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server and stored procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Python scripting (1+ year).
  • Familiarity with Snowflake database loading (1+ year).
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud file storage (S3 buckets).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience calling APIs for data retrieval and mapping results.
