About the position

The Data Engineer II role at Nuvance Health is focused on the technical implementation of reporting and analytic tools. This position is crucial for establishing data reporting standards and transforming data from various sources to provide actionable insights to clinical teams and leaders. The role emphasizes collaboration with end-users to understand their data needs and develop effective data visualization solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with technology and platform management partners to optimize data sourcing and processing rules to ensure appropriate data quality.
  • Develop and maintain robust quality control processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Extract, query, transform, visualize, and interpret data across multiple platforms.
  • Work with subject matter experts to define data requirements, sources, and formats.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to data flows within the enterprise.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements to optimize data delivery and automate manual processes.
  • Ensure relevant data is captured in source systems and made available for teams within Nuvance business intelligence applications.
  • Participate in improving processes and procedures for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Data Engineering services.
  • Aggregate and analyze various data sets to provide actionable insights.
  • Coordinate multiple work efforts and complete deliverables within stated timelines.
  • Maintain and model Nuvance Health values.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • Strong programming experience in SQL database.
  • SSIS experience required.
  • Working knowledge of EMR systems including hospital or ambulatory information systems.
  • Applied knowledge of database management tools and data warehousing best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing structured data (application databases, operational data stores, data marts, and data warehouses).
  • Required BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline or equivalent experience; Master Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience in data engineering.
  • 2+ years working in the healthcare field.
  • 2+ years in data modeling, data governance, and/or data architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Tableau experience preferred.
  • Certification in Tableau preferred.
