About the position
The Data Engineer II is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining databases for data storage, processing, and analytics. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, data archiving, and data reporting. The Data Engineer II also develops and maintains ETL processes, monitors database and cloud infrastructure, and evaluates new data sources for quality and integration.
Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, and administration of database systems in a team environment.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of industry/vendor technology and trends.
- Oversee projects from planning to completion to meet organizational requirements.
- Oversee regular maintenance of database systems.
- Provide guidance and assist in maintaining and troubleshooting software applications.
- Guide level one engineers and technicians in troubleshooting and resolution.
- Conduct research and consult with VP Network Administration on new storage and systems purchases.
- Develop and maintain Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.
- Monitor and maintain database and cloud infrastructure.
- Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
Requirements
- Equivalent to a four year college degree in a relevant field.
- 4 years of related experience and/or training in data engineering or a related field.
- Broad knowledge of fields such as accounting, marketing, business administration, and finance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply critical thinking skills.
