About the position

The Data Engineer II will be an integral part of a central infrastructure team tasked with the development and integration of new global data pipelines. This role involves taking ownership of key ETL deliverables and driving their completion from start to finish. The successful candidate will work with very large datasets that exceed the scalability limits of conventional relational databases. We are seeking individuals who are innovative, enjoy solving complex problems, and are persistent in their approach to challenges. Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate new global data pipelines.
  • Take ownership of key ETL deliverables and drive their completion from end to end.
  • Work with very large datasets beyond the scalability limits of conventional relational databases.
  • Research and implement cutting-edge technologies in data engineering.
  • Collaborate with team members to innovate and solve complex data challenges.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of data engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS services such as S3, AWS Glue, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, and FireHose.
  • Strong scripting experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java or Python.
  • Strong SQL experience with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building end-to-end ETL pipelines.
  • Scala programming experience is preferred.
  • Experience with non-relational databases/data stores including object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, and column-family databases.
  • Experience working with very large datasets in an enterprise environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools.
