About the position

The position involves driving data productization initiatives at Walmart Global Tech, focusing on developing and executing software solutions that enhance decision-making for merchants and suppliers. The role requires collaboration with various teams to analyze requirements, create software architecture, and lead discussions to ensure alignment with business needs. Additionally, the position includes mentoring less experienced programmers and creating training documentation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in developing, executing, and improving action plans.
• Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.
• Create software design and architecture for new software solutions.
• Evaluate multiple solutions and articulate tradeoffs during discussions with business and development teams.
• Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs.
• Develop and communicate business plans and priorities, removing barriers that impact performance.
• Create training documentation and oversee tasks of less experienced programmers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field, or 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field, or a Master's degree in Computer Science.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Cloud, Scala, Streaming, Kafka, SQL, Data Warehousing, BI, and Looker.
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (GCP/Azure) and backend technologies like Spring.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
• Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of accessibility best practices.
