As a Data Engineer III at LexisNexis USA, you will be responsible for performing moderate research, design, and data engineering assignments within a specific engineering functional area or product line. This role involves owning a specific set or group of data transfers in various capacities, including collection setup, data transfer setup, and contributor/customer setup. You will interface with other technical personnel or team members to document, interpret, and finalize requirements, ensuring that the data engineering processes align with the overall product goals. Your primary responsibilities will include producing code that is efficient, repeatable, and adherent to best practices such as naming conventions and encapsulation. You will write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of data components, complete data engineering bug fixes, and identify root causes of issues as appropriate. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to apply automation or other tools to improve effectiveness or efficiency in data handling. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into data engineering and/or data management designs. You will also innovate process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance of data systems. Participation in the development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews will be essential to ensure high-quality outputs. You will oversee specific database management, ensuring that structure and data flow adhere to department standards. Utilizing various data workflow management and analysis tools will be part of your daily tasks, as will participating in process improvement and compliance initiatives to consistently deliver high-quality services on time. This role requires flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet business needs. You will also be expected to operate in various development environments, such as Agile and Waterfall, while collaborating with key stakeholders and performing other duties as needed.
